Hi, I'm Vlindermuis, and I'm a shoe addict.

In the 1950s winklepickers were worn by rock and roll fans. In the 60s they were worn by modernists. In the 80s they made a comeback, being worn by different subcultures such as rockabillies, punks and goths. Today, I love them.

I absolutely love these, but I think/know my boyfriend absulotely hates these. What do?

I once found the perfect vintage pair for just ten euros in a goth store somewhere, but they were a full size too big. My boyfriend then told me not to buy them because he knew I would never wear them. Also he admitted that he did not like them very much. I do agree with him that the pointed toe can look very tacky if you coordinate them with the wrong kind of clothes.

Lately I've been browsing a lot of old school (traditional) 80s goth fashion, rediscovering my love for the pikes. I'm happy to share some pictures of people wearing them!

Best of both worlds.

 I went to Amsterdam with some of my friends to see Royal Republic play, which was awesome! We even managed to catch some guitar picks. The atmosphere was great, the moment they picked up their guitars an instant moshpit formed througout the whole audience that didn't stop until the show was over. I had seen them before at a local festival two years ago when they weren't as well-known as they are now, and even then they managed to make everyone dance.
Overall we had a nice time, having dinner at Hard Rock (two times, hehe), drinking beer, creating custom Magnum Ice creams at the Magnum Pleasure Spot et cetera.

Anyways, while shopping around in some random stores I discovered these boots and instantly fell in love with them.

Yes, Docs with a platform. Best of both worlds. I love Docs and I love platforms and these boots just have my name written on them. They are a bit pricey though, so I'll have to save money to get them someday.
